Halopedia talk:Halopedian of the Month/11 2008

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

November 2008[edit]

Nominees[edit]

Votes[edit]

  • ImperatorExercitus - In the few months that IE has been with us, he's shown extreme dedication towards not only the wikia, but the users. Constantly I see him on the IRC channel, being one of the most mature (and funny) user on there. In addition to his attitude, he's quickly became one of Halopedia's rising stars with hundreds if not thousands of contributions under his belt. • ImperatorExercitus - Yea, yea, I changed my mind since someone else was nominated. Sorry Lovemuffin. I see IE more than I do Lovemuffin, and it seems like he deserves it.--Andrew-996 File:Haloforgheisonvv4.gif|15px]] "Radio Frequency 9.96" "Confirmed Kills" 00:06, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
  • ImperatorExercitus - He is a hard worker, a avid editor and he always helps others when they are in need. SubnovaCommIntell 02:58, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
  • ImperatorExceritus - Read some of his edits in the past, really accurate and helped many friends of mine. Spirit of FireFile:UNSCoH Dingo without letters.PNG|20px]]
  • ImperatorExceritus - King-Of-Kings 03:00, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Spirit-of-HALO- Look At his Edits and how neat ad tidy they are, and how Social he is he never irritated to stop and help a fellow user . Sorry about that IE.Spriggsrules
  • Spirit-of-Halo- It's damn shameful to see that no one recognizes his hard work, seeing as how he has the most edits of the nominees. Devout Atheist
  • Devout Atheist - Over the past few weeks this user's edits have been....more or less all over the Recent changes, and edits have been of good quality and standard. A true, hard-working individual. HaloDude 20:33, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Devout Atheist - as per Dragonclaws HaloDude. -- CoH|Councillor]] Specops306 - Kora 'Morhek 22:55, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Dear Specops306,
I demand compensation and recognition for my nomination. I am utterly shocked you saw 'HaloDude' as 'Dragonclaws', and ask for a full apology. HaloDude 19:45, 7 October 2008 (UTC) (I'm kidding btw) XD
Dragonclaws? o_O ChurchReborn 01:12, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Devout Atheist - per James :P ChurchReborn 01:12, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but I had to bold that....where did 'Dragonclaws' come from? XD HaloDude 19:38, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Because it's only once in a blue moon where you do do something like this... :P ChurchReborn 05:44, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Devout Atheist - per HaloDude, he's been contributing to the site a lot lately. Spartansniper450 11:20, Oct 8, 2008
  • Devout Atheist - I have seen a lot of good edits with his name on them lately, and he also seems to be a pretty decent guy. He has my support. D1134 22:00, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Devout Atheist - While ImperatorExercitus does deserve a form of recognition, HOTM's purpose is to commend efforts for a specific time bracket, like this month. I feel that Devout Atheists's recent work and contributions are far greater than just about any other user. Ghost sangheili
  • SoH!! - All are great contributors to the Wiki, but only one shall be the one. :P Little_Missy - File:Cortana Gif.gif|24px]] 19:13, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

*Spirit-of-Halo- (You could of picked a better name bro) I vote for my brother (Not because he's my brother), but because he helped me and taught me everything I know on Halopedia, and he helped tons of other people as well:). I mean look at his edits, its amazing and neat and deserves much PersuasiveEgotist

Hasn't been on enough, sorry. User:ImperatorExercitus/sig
  • ImperatorExercitus - Has helped many users and is very kind and generous. Mr. HalonerdFile:Extermination2.jpg|20px]] 00:12, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Devout Atheist- Because of his number and quality of edits, I believe he should be the next user of the month. --Odysseas-Spartan53|File:O-S-53.jpg|40px]] 17:31, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
  • ImperatorExercitus - I'm doing this for several reasons. First, I'm hoping to avoid a tie. However, the primary reason is that while Devout Atheist has a high editcount, the "quality" of his edits is disputable. Though I do not wish to call his enthusiasm into question, it cannot be denied that a disturbing number of his edits have been questionable; none of his single edits involve more than adding a space, removing a double template, adding empty sections, or such. In contrast, past candidates have often written entire pages of information, including but not limited to entire articles of information. Whenever possible, I have done my best to uphold this standard. User:ImperatorExercitus/Sig
I feel I must disagree. I add the sections so others will know to add relevant information to them, and generally, I go back to add to it when I have relevant information. And as for adding a space, not exactly. What I did was compress the article as much as possible to make it easier for future editors. After IE informed me this is frowned upon, you can see that I no longer have edits like that. The times when I just removed a duplicate stub template or another small item like that was when I saw nothing else to edit in the article. You will also notice that I have plenty of grammatical corrections, and the reason why I check the little box that says "This is a minor edit." is because they are just that. -Devout Atheist
I have no problem with minor edits. In fact, if I wish to correct grammar mistakes, I do just that. However, my concern is focused upon edits such as the ones located here. If you wish, I can scan through your recent contributions and show you more. However, if you wish, I shall provide quite a few edits of mine that are worthy. For example, could you display a single one of this, this, this, or this? Those aren't the only "grand" edits of mine; feel free to look at any of my edits at my contributions. Cheers. User:ImperatorExercitus/Sig
Oh yeah, I noticed you were having trouble signing in. In order to do this, simply do this ~~~~. That might be why your "sig isn't working".
Cheers. User:ImperatorExercitus/Sig
Well I guess what you're referring to was of my contributions to the article as of August, which I admit were minor and numerous, before you (or anyone else) told me otherwise. But as you will see in that history the more recent edits have also been minor, but less numerous. I never claimed to have made grand edits, in fact, I generally thrive on grammar, adding links and such. I didn't ask to be nominated for HotM, so if you feel that I don't qualify to be a HotM candidate, you can bring that up with the person who nominated me. Major Devout Atheist 08:50, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
You were right about the sig, I appreciate the help. Major Devout Atheist 08:53, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Done. User:ImperatorExercitus/Sig
So, can I ask you, why do you want to win so bad that it makes you constantly say you're better than him and always bring up bad edits of his and only good of yours, because you have edits that are useless and unneeded too? Guess what, everyone does. Remember this? (I'm not going to browse through your contribs just to find some more). A completely, poorly written, lowest quality article I've ever seen made by someone who always says they're always "grand". And who cleaned it up? Not you. Your edits aren't "grand", edits are edits. And actually looking at your contribs now, it's hilarious to see you reverting about five of DA's edits, even if he was just replacing a word. Even on IRC, like earlier today, you were completely ignoring two people who were trying to calmly talk to you about why you were voting for yourself and ultimately got pissed off when you /ignored them - showing your immaturity until you turned that conversation into a hostile one by that. These are some logs that really made me think about your nomination ChurchReborn 02:59, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Comments[edit]

I must admit I found it hard to choose between Lovemuffin and ImperatorExercitus SubnovaCommIntell 03:00, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Oh wow, when I added IE I didn't think this would happen O.o SubnovaCommIntell 00:53, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

You just wiped Lovemuffin off the board. --Andrew-996 File:Haloforgheisonvv4.gif|15px]] "Radio Frequency 9.96" "Confirmed Kills" 01:51, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Only one nominee? seems a bit... less! Black Katana 14:04, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Let's try to keep it that way for as long as possible. Sorry LM SubnovaComm71Intell ROFL 13:07, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Almost everyone who wins this award is more or less a popular public figure in a way. I feel Devout Atheist is hard working, deserving, and the fact that I nominated them without knowing who they are (hence the "they", etc, i'm sorry) at all shows their work has payed off in my opinion. HaloDude 20:37, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

All three nominees have paved their way into the community through hard work. Good luck to all three!! Little_Missy - File:Cortana Gif.gif|24px]] 21:00, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

New people for a change, cool. User:Spirit-of-HALO/signatureUser:Spirit-of-HALO/sig 06:33, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Lol, I never actually thought of getting nominated, I just have access to a computer a lot, and like the atmosphere on this site. Even if I don't win, I'm grateful for the nomination. Thanks Halodude!- Devout Atheist (for some reason, my sig doesn't work=\)

Yeah...alot of people who deserve it but never get noticed at all because they're not 'popular' is usually what happens.. ChurchReborn 21:01, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Oh wow acouple of days away and this is what happens! Cool I think each of these halopedians deserves this award but yeah only one can win it.... Good luck guys! SubnovaComm71Intell LOL 01:23, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Well, this is the problem, in november we will be nominating the same nominees and every one of them will get a chance. But yeah, they really deserve it. MasterChiefPettyOfficerSpartan Contribution 12:27, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
