Biography[edit]

Ealen IV[edit]

Main article: Battle of Ealen IV

On March 5, 2558, Bradley was present onboard Infinity during Fleet Admiral Terrence Hood's diplomatic mission to Ealen IV. During the peace talks, Infinity lost radio contact from the surface. Bradley was alerted by Lieutenant Jespersen that communications were gone and that the Jiralhanae demanded to know why Infinity was supposedly blocking their communications. He asked Lieutenant Ryder for a tactical assessment, but due to the plasma distortion generated by the planet, Ryder was unable detect anything on the surface. When suggested by Lieutenant Gomez to deploy ODSTs, Bradley refused, not wanting to send a battalion down just because radio contact was lost. Bradley went to the Captain's ready room to talk to the Jiralhanae and told Ryder to continue trying to make contact. Unbeknownst to them all, the delegation had come under attack by Covenant mercenaries after a traitor had leaked the location of the peace summit.[1]

Bradley was later alerted by Lieutenant James that Chieftain Lydus' fleet was preparing to assault the Arbiter's fleet in response to the communications block. Bradley immediately ordered James to move Infinity in between their fleets. Jespersen then informed Bradley of a transmission coming from Captain Thomas Lasky. Lasky notified Bradley about the Covenant's ambush at the peace talks. Bradley informed him of the situation in orbit and patched him through to the Jiralhanae and Sangheili ships. Lasky told the fleets to stand down and direct their ships to the planet in order to save their diplomats. The fleets rallied with Infinity and forced Vata 'Gajat's fleet to retreat into slipspace.[2]

Freighter ambush[edit]

After the incident on Ealen IV, Captain Lasky left on personal leave to investigate the UNSC mole who leaked the location of the negotiations. Lord Hood remained onboard Infinity and asked Commander Bradley to indulge him with a demonstration of the ship's Forerunner engines. Before Roland plotted a course, they were notified by Lieutenant Jespersen of a distress signal near the Chaudier trade route. The exercise was canceled and Infinity went to investigate.

Arriving in the Artesia-702 system on March 11, they found a damaged civilian freighter, the Pilgrims' Pride. On Hood's order, the freighter was tugged into one of Infinity's bays. An ambush was sprung within the bay and Bradley was alerted that the freighter was set to self-destruct. With the help of Fireteams Majestic, Colossus, and Fenrir, the attack was repelled and the freighter was tugged back into space before it could self-destruct on Infinity. Following the skirmish, Bradley informed Hood that their after action teams analyzed the debris from the attack. Originally under the assumption that they were dealing with Insurrectionists, the crew discovered that the assault crafts used by the assailants belonged to a long-lost warship, the UNSC Spirit of Fire.[3]

Oth Lodon[edit]

Main article: Ambush at Oth Lodon

Shortly after, the crew of Infinity found that although the crafts belonged to the Spirit of Fire, the Pilgrims' Pride itself was fairly new in construction. When Bradley inquired about the freighter's flight logs, Roland revealed that the ship's logs had been wiped and filled with false data. However, despite that, he was able to retrieve the real data, coordinates from where it originated: Oth Lodon, a gas giant located deep in Jiralhanae space. With the Spirit's possible location found, Hood ordered a search and rescue mission. Infinity jumped to the planet's system where it found a Covenant space station operated by New Colonial Alliance insurgents. It was then that Captain Daniel Clayton, illegitimate son of Captain James Cutter, revealed himself as the mole and fired on Infinity with the station's energy projector.[4] Bradley was killed during the barrage which Lord Hood blamed himself for, for having led Infinity into a snare.[5]
